Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the process take?
Depending on how busy I am, I tell people to give me a week from the time they complete their questionnaire until they receive the first draft of their resume. The whole process from start to finish takes 2-4 weeks and depends on how quickly you complete the questionnaire and how quickly you get back to me with each step. I am more than happy to work with your timeline. Everyone works at a different speed.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, I am prepared to offer a refund if we ever come to an impasse where I am unable to create something that you can happy with.
Why you?
I have been a recruitment professional for close to 20 years and have looked at around 100,000 resumes. I use that lens to create my resumes. This work had become a calling for me and I find it incredibly fulfilling to work with people to create a resume that truly showcases their skills in a way that makes them shine.
Do you specialize in a specific industry?
No, my process is the same regardless of the industry. I have worked with tech executives, accountants, CEOS, engineers, salespeople, administrators, HR professionals, tradespeople, teachers, new grads, newly landed immigrants, and many more. The final product is different for each person.
I live outside Alberta, are you qualified to do my resume?
Yes, what makes a great resume in Calgary is the same for the rest of the province. And what makes a great resume in Alberta, makes a great resume regardless of where you live in Canada. From Victoria to Toronto, to Halifax and Newfoundland your resume will shine. However, I do not speak French. All my resumes are in English.
I live in the United States, are you qualified to do my resume?
Yes! I have worked with many clients in the United States! I have found that my resumes work well in the United States.

I live outside of North America, can you do my resume?
I have worked on resumes for clients in the UK with success and I would like to say yes, I can help you no matter where you live. But I do not have experience recruiting outside of North America so I cannot guarantee that I know what recruiters look for in other countries.
Do I need a cover letter?
If a job posting asks for a cover letter, then you should send one. If it doesn’t then you don’t have to. You should submit a cover letter when you are applying to a role outside of your previous scope of work. For example, if you are changing careers, a cover letter is a great opportunity for you to tell this story.
Do I need to be on LinkedIn?
I think LinkedIn is a powerful professional network. A simple, well-laid-out profile can go a long way. But if you don’t want to be on LinkedIn that is okay. This is something we can discuss.
Do you help with interview training?
I do! I provide interview training for $150/hour. Also, you can download my interview tip sheet here.
Do we need to meet in person?
No, but we can if you live in Calgary. I meet with most of my clients once or two over Zoom.
Do I need to put my picture on my resume?
No, you don’t. And if you don’t want to, don’t let anyone tell you that you should. But if you are in sales, marketing, or C-Suite, you might want to. But ONLY if it’s a professional headshot. It is becoming more commonplace but it’s not at all necessary. I would never push a client to put a picture on their resume.
Will you be working on my resume or someone else?
I will be the one working on your resume.
Do you have a cheaper option?
Soon! I am in the process of developing a self-guided DIY option.
Are you still a recruiter?
Yes! My recruitment agency specializes in marketing and administrative placement for small and medium businesses in Calgary, Alberta.
What’s your overall philosophy when working on a resume?
Your resume only has one job, to get someone to call you. That’s my approach. How to tell the story of you professionally quickly and clearly so that someone doesn’t have to think twice about calling you for an interview.
